What type of paper do you print on?

We offer 4 fantastic paper styles!

Classic Matte Cardstock:

Environmentally-friendly and perfect for all types of designs & photos, our classic ultra-smooth paper doesn't compromise quality for cost. Small PhotoAffections logo prints on white back.

Photo-Style Cardstock:

This cardstock features a protective Satin coated front to make your photos and colors pop. Small PhotoAffections logo prints on white back.

Premium Cardstock:

Available in 2 luxurious finishes, our 16pt thickness cardstocks are manufactured with 100% post-consumer recycled materials operated by green e-certified wind power.

Premium Matte (Most Popular):

Uncoated, natural finish typically used for fine stationery. Perfect for keepsake baby, birthday, wedding and Holiday cards.

Premium Glossy:

UV Gloss coated on both sides for rich colors, crisp images & picture-perfect cards every time.

What if my photo needs retouching?

That's no problem at all! At PhotoAffections we offer basic retouching and design services for FREE and charge only $25 for advanced services. Basic photo retouching includes: adjustments to brightness and contrast, color correction, red eye removal, changing a background color and other quick fixes. Just be sure to let us know what you are looking for in the comments box. If your requests are beyond the scope of basic retouching, we'll contact you for approval of the design fee before we proceed.

How do I use the Online Preview Tool?

It's easy to personalize any card. And our Online Preview Tool renders accurate previews so that you can see just how your card will look. Just keep the following points in mind when using the tool:

  • 1. To edit the text, simply click on any text area in Step 1.
  • 2. Double-check the placement of all photos and spelling of all text on your card.
  • 3. Text won't fit right? Not to worry! Just leave us a note in Step 2.
  • 4. Noticed a mistake in Step 2? Not to worry! Just leave us a note in Step 2.
  • 5. For help click the links at the top of the Online Preview window.

The Online Preview Tool is intended for broadband Internet connections and requires no software downloads. If you experience any technical issues, please feel free to contact us.

Why are your photo cards different?

We're a custom photo lab and have decades of combined experience in proper photo retouching, finishing, printing, and most important - COLOR!

You'll love our quality, but you'll also appreciate our very reasonable prices. At PhotoAffections we believe in being completely transparent. That's why you'll find no hidden charges – like the charges many other sites assess for additional photos on a card. And we guarantee everything we do.

How do I place a reorder?

We keep your finished card on file 60 days from when the order was placed. To place your reorder:

  • Step 1. Click here to log into your account.
  • Step 2. Click My Orders.
  • Step 3. Click the Reorder button and follow the remaining steps.
  • Step 4. We'll print and ship your re-order within 2 business days. Reorders placed after 5 PM Pacific time require an additional day to process.

How do you protect my credit card information when ordering?

Good question! When you place an order at PhotoAffections.com, the sensitive data you transmit is encrypted using SSL (Secure Socket Layer) technology. This technology creates a secure connection between you and our server; as a result, your information will not be captured by those who may wish to spy on you.

Furthermore, PhotoAffections.com uses our own 256-bit SSL Certificate provided to us by Verisign. This is important to note because some companies use a "shared SSL certificate" which is shared by other users and hosted on a different server. When you make a purchase with us, you'll notice that the URL always begins with our domain name, and you never leave our site.

What do you mean by "Free Touch Ups?"

A member of our design staff checks every single order we receive, fixing your photos whenever necessary by adjusting brightness and contrast and other attributes. If you have any special requests, you can leave us your comment in the course of placing your order.

Please note, that extensive editing, (i.e., removing/moving people, removing large objects, eliminating or changing backgrounds) is beyond the scope of our services.

How quickly will my cards be printed and shipped?

Once your order is placed, your custom cards will be printed and shipped within 2 business days. For more details please see our full shipping schedule.

Do you have a Christmas deadline?

For timely production and delivery we suggest ordering Photo Christmas Cards by December 10th. For orders placed after this date we recommend expedited or overnight shipping.

Can I order less than the stated minimum order?

We're sorry, but we have to adhere to the minimum order quantity of 15 for invitations and 25 for all other cards.

How much text can I fit on my card?

This varies; each greeting card or announcement can accommodate different amounts of text according to the design. When you're considering a card, look at the sample text used in that particular card. As you'll see in several designs, you can place text on top of your image, but this may also be limited depending on your photo. For instance, if there's a lot of sky or water, inserting text shouldn't be a problem.

I would like to crop or edit my picture; what do I do?

You can freely crop, zoom and rotate your images in our completely "live" environment. These edits are automatically saved as part of your order.

It's very important that all the digital images you use be at the highest resolution possible so that cropping produces good results.

Do your greeting cards require extra postage?

Our 5 x 7 products do not require any extra postage. Our 5.25 x 5.25 square designs, however, do require additional postage due to USPS regulations when you use a square envelope. Alternatively, we offer a rectangular envelope with a fitted pocket for square cards at no additional charge. Choose this option when placing your order to avoid additional postage prices. If you decide to use square envelopes please be sure to check with your local post office or visit usps.com for current postage rates to mail square envelopes.

Can I place an order by phone?

At this time we are unable to accept orders by phone.

Can I use professional images for my cards?

You're welcome to use photos taken by professional photographers on your card. However, if the photo is copyright protected, we must receive permission from the photographer to print. Please email the copyright release to our customer care center as an attachment. Our email address can be found in your order confirmation message.

What is FreePrints?

FreePrints lets anyone order FREE 4x6 photo prints from their computer, smartphone, Facebook, Instagram, Google Photos, Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive and FreePrints accounts.

Is FreePrints only available on PhotoAffections.com?

No! FreePrints is also available for your iPhone, Android, tablet, or iPad.

How many free prints can I order?

You can order up to 85 FREE individual 4x6 photo prints per calendar month, which means you can order up to 1000 4x6 prints per year!

I have no free prints remaining. When do I get more?

Your free prints count resets on the 1st of every calendar month.

Do you offer duplicate prints or other print sizes?

If you want an additional print of any individual 4x6 photograph or other size prints, our prices are incredibly competitive and lower than most major photo sources available today.

When will I receive my prints?

Your photo prints will arrive in 5-13 days. If you upgrade to Expedited Shipping, you will receive them in as few as 4-7 days!

How much is shipping and handling?

Standard shipping and handling starts at $1.99 and is never more than $9.99.

Where are my photographs printed?

Each and every photograph is printed at one of our professional photo labs. Our state-of-the-art custom labs provide decades of experience in photo finishing and printing of both color and black and white photographs.

What kind of paper is used to print my photographs?

All FreePrints photos are printed on either Fuji or Kodak silver halide photographic paper to ensure high-quality, long-lasting prints that resist fading for generations. Silver halide prints provide the best quality images, vivid color reproduction, more natural skin tones, exceptional sharpness and unsurpassed color stability.

Canvas Prints FAQs

What kinds of photos can I use on my custom canvas print?

You can make a canvas print from any personal digital photo of sufficient quality and resolution.

What photo format should I use?

We accept JPEG, JPG, PNG, TIF, TIFF, HEIC and GIF images that can be uploaded from your computer, as well as from Instagram, Facebook, Google Photos, Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive and FreePrints accounts.

How do I know if the photo I want to use is high-quality enough?

That's not a problem. When you upload your photo, our Online Design Tool will let you know if it's of sufficient quality. Most photos are.

If I give a custom canvas print as a gift will the price I paid be seen by the recipient?

Absolutely not! The price you paid will not be included in the package nor seen by the recipient. If you'd like to give a custom canvas gift as a gift, simply specify the recipient's address in the shipping details when you check out.

What shipping method do you use?

Our canvas prints are shipped via UPS or USPS. We offer UPS Ground, 2nd Day Air and Next Day Air; or USPS 1st Class Package, Priority Mail and Priority Mail Express for Standard, Expedited and Overnight shipping service levels.

What happens if my canvas is damaged during shipping?

We have to say that we're very proud of our protective packaging, but we do understand that sometimes accidents happen. If your canvas is damaged during shipping, we're more than happy to replace it for free. Simply contact us here and we'll give you detailed instructions about how to return your damaged canvas print.

What sizes do the canvases come in?

We have standard sizes for square canvases (8x8, 12x12 and 20x20) portrait canvases (8x10, 11x14, 16x20, 20x24 and 24x36) and landscape canvases (10x8, 12x11, 20x16, 24x20 and 36x24) available.

What does the edge of the canvas look like?

All our canvases are printed with a premium 1¼-inch photo-wrapped edge.

Are your canvases eco-friendly?

Yes, absolutely. We use environmentally-friendly inks to not only provide rich and impressive color but also to produce canvases that are virtually odor-free, making them perfect for any sensitive indoor environment, from family rooms to nurseries.

How long will my canvas last?

We offer a lifetime guarantee against warping, cracking and defective workmanship. If you're not satisfied, just ship your canvas back to us, and we'll replace it free of charge. We'll even ship your new canvas to you absolutely free!

How do I hang my canvas when I get it?

All of our canvases come with a special back dust cover and with the hanging hardware already attached, sufficient to support the canvas weight on the wall. They arrive "ready to hang," so all you do is hammer your nail(s) into the wall.

Do you offer floating frames?

Yes! You will have the option to add a floating frame to any of our canvases. With a ¼" gap between the frame and the canvas, your custom canvas print will appear to "float" when displayed, making it even more of a standout piece of art!

What kinds of photos can I use on my custom photo phone case?

If you have personal digital photos in JPEG, JPG, PNG, TIF, TIFF, HEIC, GIF format and with sufficient resolution and quality, you can use them on our photo phone cases.

What if my photo needs retouching?

What's the difference between PhotoAffections' Slim and Extra Durable Phone Cases?

Good question! Our Slim Photo Phone Case offers a low profile and light feel, whereas our Extra Durable Photo Phone Case offers a snug-fitting impact-resistant inner bumper. However, either case helps to keep your phone safe from daily wear and tear. Plus, with the combination of Color Integration Technology™ and flexible yet durable materials, our mobile cases will keep your phone stylish and secure.

How do I attach the case to my mobile phone?

Simply slide your phone into the Slim hard-shell case, starting at the top. Align the phone buttons with the case holes and then gently snap the case into place.

If you have an Extra Durable case, simply remove the flexible bumper from the shell and place it around your phone. Slide your bumper-wrapped phone into the case, starting at the top. Align the phone buttons with the case holes and then gently snap the case into place.

How do I remove the case from my mobile phone?

Whether you're removing a Slim or Extra Durable Photo Phone Case, turn the phone so that its back faces you. Apply pressure to the bottom corners to create a space between the phone and case. Using your fingers, gently pry the space open, and the case will pop right off.

What materials are used in your Tabletop Panels?

Our Tabletop Photo Panels are made from high-quality wood with a built-in stand on the back. They measure ¼ inch deep, are available in 5x5 and 5x7 sizes, and can display Portrait or Landscape layouts. All photos are printed directly onto the easel with a UV-resistant coating that results in a brilliant, glossy finish.

How do I clean my Tabletop Photo Panel?

It's easy! Simply lightly wipe it clean with a damp cloth or duster.

Can I ship my Tabletop Photo Panel internationally?

Yes, we can deliver your Tabletop Photo Panel to an international address! All Tabletop Photo Panels require 7-11 business days for international shipping and will arrive in separate packaging from any other products purchased.
